IHE Europe News Pulse: Device Interoperability Training Now Available 27 March at Connectathon Week

We are proud to announce that IHE Europe and MedTech Europe, the European trade association for the medical technology industry, have joined forces on the occasion of the 2020 Connectathon Week to provide exclusive training on “IHE Profiles for Medical Device Interoperability”.

The training will be held on 27 March, at the prestigious Autoworld Centre, Brussels that is hosting the Connectathon Week activities, throughout week 23-27 March, 2020; the full week’s activities are listed here.

Personal medical devices help patients and citizens with health tracking their health data, monitoring and improving their lifestyles and managing chronic and other health conditions. By being interoperable the use and management of the data generated is invaluable to the patient and their medical professionals. It enables remote monitoring, arm’s length delivery of care and can transform the provision of health/social care using data analytics and artificial intelligence.

“We need more interoperability to avoid data silos and to advance the digital transformation of our healthcare systems.  IHE Profiles are a critical enabler of interoperability of personal medical devices, especially given the recently announced collaboration between PCHA (Continua) and IHE on the further development of the IHE Patient Care Device (PCD) Profile”, said Michael Strübin. Director Digital Health Medtech Europe.
The training will:

Increase awareness about the benefits of medtech device interoperability.
Increase knowledge of and about IHE processes and procedures, including testing and conformity assessment.
Provide access to IHE experts and peer support.
Include a visit to the Connectathon Floor to see live interoperability testing.

Target audience is mainly software engineers and product developers working on connected digital devices for citizens and patients, but training is open to anyone.

Deadline for registration is 2 March 2020, registration details and the full programme are available here.
Places are limited so be sure to register early. Hope to see you in Brussels!
