IHE Europe News Pulse: mHealth Plugthon is coming to Brussels 24-25 March

The mHealth Plugathon is a fabulous opportunity for mobile health app developers and organisations developing healthcare devices to benefit from a two-day educational and testing programme focused on eHealth and mHealth Standards. Working with peer organisations to facilitate successful interoperability, the mHealth Plugathon enables participants to solidify their product offerings.

Discussing ideas on the creative uses of exchanged data and testing against established IHE Profiles, will add significant value to their organisation, their product sales curve and technical knowledge of the developers.

The educational side will include sessions on international eHealth standards and terminologies as well as specific workshops on interoperability testing, which can be selected from a menu, depending on areas of interest and level of knowledge, see here.

Organised in parallel with the IHE-Europe Connectathon, and taking place at the famous Autoworld Centre, by IHE-Europe, Agoria, Abrumet, lifetech.brussels and IHE-Belgium it also offers refresher sessions on IHE Profiles and appropriate standards that will be utilised during all-important hands-on testing.
The key themes relating to challenges in eHealth management will include learning about:

- HL7 FHIR, its scope and use in IHE Profiles, and as a complement to IHE XDS applications.
- Validation Tools for connectivity testing.
- Generic usage of eHealth Terminologies.
- The Belgian and Brussels eHealth Network and Belgium deployment opportunities.
- Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in eHealth.

“We ensure that this crucial teaching is achieved through a combination of education and hands-on sessions including  continuous testing and peer-to-peer networking. EHealth experts will be present throughout the two-day Plugathon. Additionally there is the unique opportunity to experience the Connectathon first-hand through VIP Tours conducted by IHE experts”, said Karlien Erauw, Principal Organiser
